#TBT – Post Office Square Boston

The Old Post Office Square was in construction during the Great Fire of 1872 and its dense walls were believed to be responsible for halting the fire’s northward progress.

This gorgeous French Second Empire-style building stood till the late 1920’s when it was demolished to make way for the John D. McCormack Federal Building and Post Office on Congress Street.
