Description

Senior Project Manager – Reconstruction

Boston Harbor Water Restoration

When someone’s home floods, burns, or suffers major damage, they’re often going through one of the most stressful moments of their life.

Our job is simple:

Put their home back together — quickly, professionally, and better than before.

Boston Harbor Water Restoration rebuilds homes and properties after disasters. We are a fast-growing restoration company focused on speed, accountability, and quality execution.

As we grow, the biggest constraint in the business is getting reconstruction jobs completed faster while maintaining strong margins and excellent workmanship.

That’s where you come in.

We’re hiring a Senior Project Manager – Reconstruction to take full ownership of projects from signed contract through completion.

Your job is to make sure projects are delivered:

  • On time
  • On margin
  • At a high level of quality

This is an operations leadership role for someone who enjoys building, problem-solving, and getting things done.

What You’ll Do

Once a contract is signed, you own the job.

Your responsibility is to make sure the project moves efficiently from start to finish.

Project Ownership

  • Take full responsibility for reconstruction projects from contract signing through completion
  • Manage timelines, budgets, subcontractors, and site logistics
  • Ensure projects move through the pipeline without unnecessary delays

Project Execution

  • Deliver projects on schedule, on margin, and at quality
  • Coordinate subcontractors and vendors
  • Manage materials procurement and scheduling
  • Identify problems early and implement solutions quickly

Client Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for homeowners during reconstruction
  • Maintain clear communication throughout the project
  • Ensure a high-quality customer experience during a stressful time

Operational Improvement

  • Help develop processes that improve job throughput and profitability
  • Track project health across the active portfolio
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement operational improvements

Scorecard (How You’ll Be Measured)

The primary metric for this role is:

Cash Collected Per Month

This metric improves when projects move efficiently from contract to completion to payment.

Supporting metrics include:

  • Project cycle time (contract to completion)
  • Job gross margin
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Number of active jobs successfully managed

Top performers in this role consistently:

  • Complete projects quickly
  • Maintain strong margins
  • Deliver high-quality work
  • Keep clients informed and satisfied

A Day in the Life

A typical day might include:

  • Visiting active job sites
  • Meeting subcontractors and reviewing progress
  • Solving problems that could delay the schedule
  • Communicating with homeowners about next steps
  • Coordinating materials and upcoming work
  • Reviewing project timelines and budgets
  • Working with leadership to improve operational processes

You will often manage multiple projects simultaneously, each with different timelines and moving parts.

Who This Role Is For

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Enjoys building and solving problems
  • Takes ownership of outcomes
  • Is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knows how to hold subcontractors accountable
  • Communicates clearly with clients and team members
  • Wants to help build operational systems in a growing company

You are someone who does not wait for instructions.

You see problems, fix them, and move the project forward.

This Role Is NOT For You If

  • You need constant direction or supervision
  • You avoid difficult conversations with contractors or clients
  • You struggle to manage multiple projects at once
  • You are uncomfortable being accountable for outcomes

This role requires ownership, decisiveness, and follow-through.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package designed to reward strong operators.

Compensation includes:

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance incentives tied to project performance
  • Health benefits
  • Retirement benefits
  • Career development support
