Description

Our client, a leading New England general contractor with 60+ years of success in infrastructure and civil construction, has an immediate need for a hands-on Controller to oversee all aspects of corporate accounting and construction finance.

This is a high-visibility role within a small, collaborative team where you’ll have direct influence on systems, processes, and future growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including project accounting, cash management, job cost tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Lead the company’s transition and migration to CMiC (prior ERP migration experience strongly preferred).
  • Manage financial processes across design-build and bid-build projects to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Operations to analyze project performance, forecast cash flow, and maintain cost control.
  • Maintain relationships with external auditors, insurance providers, and bonding companies.
  • Provide executive leadership with timely and accurate reporting, while improving internal controls and reporting automation.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years of construction finance experience within a general contracting or self-performing subcontractor environment.
  • Proven success managing or migrating construction ERP systems - ideally transitioning to or working in CMiC.
  • Strong grasp of GAAP, WIP reporting, cash flow management, and cost accounting.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical with the ability to “roll up your sleeves” and work alongside operations.
  • Tech-savvy with a mindset for continuous improvement and efficiency.

  • Base Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 (commensurate with experience)
